I love leather. This backpack is as advertised. Lots of pocket room and compartments. I was a little surprised at the Smith and Wesson bag enclosed. The advertisement says holds gun snug. I'd describe it being stronger. Stronger to point of making holster placement difficult. I live in South Central Texas. Temperatures are currently over 100°. I do a lot of walking a few hours a day. The heat will take care of that. As advised, practice, practice and practice. I am a sling bag person. This is my first backpack. I'm lucky that I have a SIRT. Every evening we practice getting bag and holster position. Then draw and rehoslter. Good today, awful tomorrow. Area empty while walking. I practice reaching zipping, pulling phone out and returning. I suggest the very front pocket should have 2 zippers. A lefty under duress could grab that long leather pull. The key ring I love. I had to remove it for same reason. It just kept getting in the way. I would suggest that anyone like me new to backpack avoid putting anything thing that would change shape of holster area. Especially quality leather. This store is fantastic. I now have to learn how to get proficient with my backpack.
